SCOTT'S BLOG Wow! I was involved in a showcase event that featured 5 other speakers and myself. We started as members of Thought Leaders 90 days ago in a collaborative approach to get our individual and unique messages out to the top speaking bureaus and conference organisers across Australia. We worked with event partners including Hoyts at Fox Studios and DMD Videomedia to ensure a professional event. It is amazing what happens when a group of people get their concentric rings into alignment. Once we were clear on the goal we set out to make sure that everyone involved--from the attendees, the sponsors and the speakers had a great experience. And this is just what we achieved. The feedback has been spectacular, with many of the attendees not only talking to the speakers about upcoming conferences, but also about the relevance of everyone's presentation to what is happening in business--and in people's personal lives. For me, I spoke about Concentric Rings and the power of Concentricity between people. I also shared the Sacred Order that is used by native peoples around the world in dealing with the outdoor environment which is: Shelter, Water, Fire & Food. As this wisdom has been around for hundreds of years, it has guided people to survive--and thrive in the world around them. I specifically spoke about how this relates to business--and how most business is getting it wrong by focusing on the wrong order. Specifically most businesses are focusing on providing their people "food" which the salary, roles and responsibilities and procedures. What they are not starting with, as the Sacred Order teaches, is creating a positive culture that staff want to be involved with (Shelter), Creating a ongoing learning environment to quench peoples thirst for knowledge (Water), Engaging their staff in a motivational way--that creates a spark of contagious energy (Fire).
